Your machine needs a grade that offers the lowest core loss. But all grades are not created equal! Your SMAG subscription allows you to visually compare the magnetic properties of diverse grades produced by various manufactures around the world. Your machine needs a grade that offers the highest permeability. This screenshot from the SMAG visually compares the permeability curves of M310-50A grades from three different manufacturers. By moving the cursor you can find which grade is better at your design point.
It shows that the Nippon’a grade is best at 0.9T, while AK Steel’s grade is better at 0.7T. Choosing such a better grade reduces the current requirements of your machine. This visual quickly reveals that each grade is best at different flux densities.
